In January the state of Alaska, in partnership with the Department of Homeland Security Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) began work to update the 2007 Statewide Communication Interoperability Plan (SCIP).  This effort is part outreach and part direction setting toward the future.

The final workshop was held on April 14.  This workshop was the final validation of the current and desired state and the goals and objectives for interoperable communications.

CISA will deliver a final, approved SCIP back to Alaska and support them with implementation through relevant technical assistance around May 1.
