The Operations Management Office continues to receive questions on approved equipment for the system.

As a reminder:

  • Previously tested equipment as shown on the Approved Equipment List, including non-TDMA, may continue to be utilized on the system.
  • Effective January 1, 2021, all new radios added to the ALMR System must be TDMA capable or enabled.
    NOTE:  Additionally, no previously approved models currently authorized to operate on ALMR will be added if they are not TDMA capable.
  • Effective December 31, 2026, all subscriber units operating on ALMR should be TDMA capable.

Member agencies that are planning to purchase new radios must ensure they are “TDMA Phase II” compatible and that feature is enabled upon purchase.
